Judith was an active retiree who played golf three times a week when she started experiencing Level 3 pain that medications, stretching and physical therapy controlled for many years.

Gradually her pain started increasing, though, and she found herself unable to play golf or participate in day-to-day activities.

“When my pain reached a Level 9 on a scale of 10, I couldn’t even stand long enough to make a meal,” Judith recalled. “I was limited to either sitting or lying down all the time and still I was in pain. My cognitive behavior was also affected because the pain was so intense.”

Judith consulted Dr. Daryoush Payman who recommended an HF10 trial in February 2019. The trial was successful at reducing her pain so Judith moved forward with an HF10 implant two months later.

“HF10 started helping me immediately and reduced my pain to a Level 6.” Judith said. “And in the subsequent 4-5 months my pain continued to decrease until I could almost say it’s at zero. I am back to doing all my activities, including playing golf twice a week or more, and enjoying life. Dr. Payman and the Nevro team are my angels on earth!”
