Myth #1: My injury healed, so my pain should be gone.
Acute pain usually comes on suddenly and goes away when an injury heals. Chronic pain is persistent and can be debilitating, even after an injury heals. If you have been experiencing pain for more than three months, it is considered chronic. Sometimes the pain remains even after an injury heals, especially if there is nerve damage.

Myth #2: Some people don’t believe that I’m really experiencing pain; maybe it’s not as bad as I think it is.
